At Laing O'Rourke we are looking for a Due Diligence researcher who understands research methodologies and techniques. You would be supporting LOR in its commitment to meeting its legal, regulatory and policy compliance obligations with a particular focus on anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, fraud, competition, sanctions, and modern slavery. Be prepared to discuss, retrieve, and present your work for the purposes of legal enquiries, litigation, investigation or audits.

The role will see you conduct wide-ranging research and due diligence into the companies, organisations and key people with whom LOR does business. Developing information and briefing products, producing reports to manage risk in its business relationships.

Other duties include:

  • Unwrap opaque corporate structures to identify ultimate beneficial owners.
  • Monitor the company's ongoing screening database and escalate any compliance related issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain a well-organised digital record of all summaries, reports and briefing documents, which are easy to identify in any future discovery process.
  • Conduct all work in a discreet and confidential manner, always complying with GDPR principles.

What essential skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Previous research and/or analytical experience in a relevant environment such as corporate, journalism, market research, political or public sector etc.
  • A relevant higher/further education or post-graduate qualification such as research, analysis etc.
