Job Title: Road Lighting Design Technician

Location: Nationwide, this is an agile role where you will be based out of a Kier local office with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £18k- £24k +

We are now recruiting for a Road Lighting Design Technician to join our Highways team to assist with the preparation of technical solutions to engineering problems as a member of the Road Lighting team and as directed.

Key Responsibilities

As Road Lighting Design Technician, you will undertake services within an engineering environment which may include: scheme investigation, lighting inspections, data collection and analysis, preparing reports, identification of repair options, preparing specifications and drawings for repair schemes, works/construction inspection and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction. Under supervision prepare technical designs in accordance with approved design procedures and systems and prepare drawings, documents and use specialist software such as AutoCAD.

What do we need from you?

  • Award of or training towards HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline
  • Some specialist knowledge of the road lighting design discipline gained through training or qualifications and experience
  • Knowledge of relevant design software and standards and proficient in the production of engineering drawings using AutoCAD
  • Full Driving Licence
