We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic Highways.
We are now recruiting for a Roadworker to join our Highways team in Wellingborough to have a key role in placing, spreading, levelling and providing compaction of stone, coated materials, concrete, etc to accurate levels.
What you'll be doing:
Digging, forking, raking, seeding grass and other horticultural operations. There will be the operation of light plant including breakers, rollers, disc cutters, vibe plates etc including responsibility for their daily maintenance. Assisting skilled operatives in kerbing, drainage, concrete work, flag and block paving, bricklaying, drainage works and surfacing and surface repair of footways and bridleways. Excavation of soil, rock, asphalt, concrete etc using hand and powered tools. Hand sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, loading, unloading and general handling of materials and equipment. Participate in winter maintenance and emergency standby/call out duties when required.
We are seeking candidates who:
- Previous experience at level RW2 or equivalent with appropriate certificates for the RW2 level
- Relevant CSCS card for level of work and working towards NVQ2
- Completed all relevant training laid down by the SHE matrix for the level of work
- First aid certificate
- HGV/LGV licence
