:: Do you have experience in preparing design drawings for construction projects?

We are working with a Manufacturer who supply high quality, high value solutions for both the self-build market and commercial market, now seeking an experienced Designer, ideally with roof truss or other engineered timber design experience, to join their friendly and busy team.

The team works on complete timber frame packages but they also have their own specialist Truss Designers, and are looking to expand their number. They take pride in providing an excellent service to their clients who require a high degree of support.

We are keen to hear from you if you have:

  • Previous experience in preparing design drawings for construction projects, particularly if you are familiar with engineered wood products / timber engineering
  • Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, and if you have any experience in specialist timber engineering design software, this would be advantageous
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise directly with customers, attending site meetings and producing estimates
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and PC literate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Practically minded and a team player
  • A willingness (ideally a real desire) to move to Cornwall if you are not already living here


Along with a generous salary our client is currently in the process of setting up a pension scheme, holiday entitlement is 28 days which includes bank holidays. The team is small and very keen on charity events, involving all members of the team.
