Our client is looking to recruit a Sales Engineer to their expanding team.

Sales Engineer Job Purpose

Sales Engineer - Area of Business- Sale of integrated solutions to include automated and mechanised hardware and associated software.
To support the GM in promoting sales and to represent the company in all forms of sales and marketing activity with respect to sales of integrated warehouse automation and its associated maintenance contracts.

Sales Engineer Roles & Responsibilities:
* In conjunction with the GM and Marketing Manager, proactively find and nurture sales leads using intelligent marketing techniques and any other resources at your disposal.
* Attend client meetings to carry out site survey's and use intelligent questioning to gain a deep understanding of their needs.
* Design creative integrated solutions using a suite of hardware and software suppliers that best meet the customers practical, technical and financial needs.
* Build rapport with the client by delivering on commitments and involving all stakeholders in the solution design process.
* Provide sales support to the GM on projects to ensure continuous and efficient communications are maintained with the customer.
* Propose and sell materials handling equipment, associated equipment, service contracts, and installation works with a view to achieving or exceeding sales budgets agreed at the beginning of each financial year.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of all technical aspects of the company's equipment and service portfolio with a view to portraying such knowledge to gain a competitive sales advantage.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of all competitor's equipment, service and pricing with a view to using such knowledge to gain a competitive advantage. Communicate such knowledge within the team and with equipment manufacturer as required or deemed appropriate.
* Take responsibility for costing and presenting all sales proposals to maximise company profitability in accordance with targets set and laid out in the quality processes in place for the department.
* In consultation with the GM take responsibility for all technical information required from sale through to installation including site check and associated documentation.
* Maintain a data base and records of all sales prospects and report progression on an as required basis in line with current reporting processes.
* Work with the GM towards developing marketing strategies.

Other General Duties:
* Communicate effectively with all colleagues to ensure that projects of work are being carried out in an efficiently and in a timely manner.
* To adhere to all health and safety and quality procedures as outlined in the Company's procedures.

Sales Engineer KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
* Sales turnover against budget as agreed in consultation with the GM
* Sales Project Gross Profit generated against budget and reported in the monthly management accounts, to reflect all direct and indirect costs of running the projects.
* Other financial targets as set.

Sales Engineer KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
Essential:

* A proven record of selling engineering /capital equipment and services.
* Ability to travel to customers and project sites both overseas and UK in accordance with project requirements.
* Intermediate knowledge and working experience using Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Project.
* Demonstrated evidence of working under pressure to stringent deadlines.
* Ability to communication effectively at all levels
* Ability to use CAD software.

Desirable:
* Engineering background with sales experience
* Knowledge and understanding of technical drawings
