Job title: Sales Engineer
Job summary: Responsible for generating leads and achieving sales of plant equipment
Responsible to: Customer Support Manager
Sales Engineer Standard duties:
* Preparing & submitting activity plans in liaison with the Customer Support Manager, working both together and independently to achieve sales targets.
* Build strong client relationships, developing a deep understanding of their business and its challenges.
* Generate new leads in order to increase sales, using all available resources to identify new prospects and attempt to turn those prospects in to customers.
* Contribute to and co-ordinate quarterly and annual account reviews and sales planning sessions.
* Attend industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make proactive contact with existing customers.
* Provide required support for the delivery of new trucks to ensure on time and to customer expectations.
Sales Engineer Responsibilities: Comply with all aspects of the company policies and follow published procedures where applicable. Maintain a culture of best practice within the company by attending training courses, both internal and external when and where required.
Sales Engineer Personal: Self-motivation and team working are essential. Flexibility within this role is paramount, with the ability to adapt working hours to accommodate priorities and/or business requirements. The ability to work alone and on own initiative is required, taking a lead when hurdles arise or when tasks require completion. Must be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment and react quickly to meet challenges.
Sales Engineer Experience: Sales experience in the utilities/construction sector, preferably with HGV utility vehicles.
Skills and qualities: The job holder will be expected to possess the following:

* Strong IT knowledge & computer skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a small team, building relationships with customers and colleagues.
* Conscientious with a high level of attention to detail.
* Good influencing and negotiating skills
* Valid UK driving licence.
