This is an important position for an SAP Functional Lead to join a well-established engineering and construction company based in North Nottinghamshire.

The Job role will be based at our Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction in Worksop but may require visits to our other sites (offices, manufacturing & project sites) as required to deliver/support our IT demands

The Opportunity:

The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading the functional and technical development team and liaising with key senior stakeholders. This role will be 70% hands-on and 30% team lead.

This role is focused on the delivery of SAP solutions, process improvements, and ensuring that the SAP system is maintained and running current versions. You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify system requirements and set expectations. You will also ease the workload of other team members by allocating 70% of your time to system enhancements.

What will the role look like?

Are you able to Identify and implement functional process changes that improve systems?

Can you contribute to managing and delivering large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing/challenging the output produced by the team?

Do you want to be actively involved in business development activities to identify and research opportunities for new/existing clients?

    • Manage the capturing business requirements and convert them to system requirements
    • Ensure that the correct solution is implemented based on business requirements
    • Managing enhancement imports to production
    • Coordinate with the SAP Support team the transition of changes/new transactions to ensure the successful transition of the solution into service/BAU

Are you able to motivate, mentor, and develop team members, and have the ability to lead & manage the operations for internal SAP Developers?

    • Organise & manage workload resources required to deliver IT services for the business demands
    • Performance management of team members
    • Engagement with wider IT team members
    • Care for the health, safety & welfare of your team

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Experience in SAP ECC6 & SAP S4/HANA
  • Knowledge of best practices in SAP
  • 8 years of SAP experience using a mixture of modules: SD, MM, PS, PP, and FI/CO
  • Experience with SAP implementations, upgrades, and patching
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills, with an ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • Good understanding of SAP modules: WM, QM, PM, DMS, EPPM, and HR/CATS
  • Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment
