Planner / Scheduling Administrator

Location: Exeter area

Project: South West Water



Kier Utilities is looking to recruit a Scheduler who will work as part of the NSA Network Planning and Logistics Team to effectively plan the daily work of all NSA resources. The plan will need to consider many elements including customer commitments, work priority, efficiency, skills and streetworks noticing for both reactive and planned tasks.


Your key responsibilities will consist of:

· Day to day planning for all resources and workstreams in the NSA area.

· Jeopardy Management.

· Customer communication regarding planned and ongoing work.

· Ensuring all required information is provided to the operational teams to complete the task planned.

· Ensure all business processes are followed recording all necessary information in a timely manner.

· Work with planners in all NSA's to best utilise available resource.

· Monitor all reports to maintain workbasket levels within stated performance levels whilst balancing a dynamic workforce.

· Work closely with the Delivery Managers regarding field staff levels required to meet peaks and troughs.

· Contribute to the maintenance of the attendance records of all staff within the NSA and liaise closely with the other NSA's to deploy resource to best effect across the entire region.

· Ensure operational activities comply with requirements of New Roads and Streetworks Act and Traffic Management Act.

· Ensure the quality of information from all is monitored and any issues are highlighted to the planning manager.

· Ensure best practice is employed and shared through Alliance with other managers and technical experts across the company.

· Ensure that the Quality Management System is effectively maintained.

· Maintain and develop the competency of staff under his/her management to ensure regulatory and business requirements are met and continuous improvement achieved.

· When required, complete the duties of the NSA Admin Assistant.


Essential Skills and Experience

· Previous experience of planning/scheduling for Utilities contracts

· Experience within the Water industry would be highly advantageous

· Proven ability to use, understand and adapt to a variety of IT systems

· Strong communication skills both written and verbally

· Able to manage conflicting priorities whilst under pressure
