We at Protocol are working with an established college group in the Croydon area to recruit for a Science Lecturer (Biology and Chemistry Lead specifically) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in August.

The College has high quality, industry standard facilities which include a state -of- the- art digital media suite, a professional photography studio, known as the Sugar Cube and commercial on- site Hair, Beauty and Spa salons. The Health, Care and Early Years Department also has a virtual nursery facility. The Learning Resource Centre, complete with specialist facilities, complements our Student Services Centre which provides a one stop service to enrich the student experience.

Role responsibilities
Preparation and delivery of lessons and courses; assessment, recording and reporting on assessments of students.
Acting as group and personal tutor; delivery of tutorial programme; guidance to members of tutor group; supporting and participating in curriculum development; accurate maintenance of registers; preparation of tutor reports.
Working as part of a team to quality assure qualification delivery and develop Schemes of Work and associated resources
Consultation and reporting with parents and colleagues as needed.
Attendance at staff, department, team meetings and parents' consultation meetings.
Participation in examination arrangements including invigilation.
Participation in learner admissions, learner trips and visits, enrichment and guidance of learners.
Participation in marketing and promotional events.


The person & qualifications
A recognised teaching qualification in a closely related subject
Degree in a closely related subject or equivalent professional qualification at level 4 or above
Maths & English GCSE / Level 2 equivalent
Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Level 2 (or willing to obtain)
Equality & Diversity Level 2 (or willing to obtain)
Experience of working in a FE environment, particularly with students aged 16 to 19 years
Extensive knowledge of motivational and effective pedagogic practices
Substantial knowledge and experience of the range of tutoring, and learner tracking methods needed to ensure stimulating learning experiences
Knowledge of the relevant course content in a vocational setting
Ability to motivate students to maximise their potential
