We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working with Network Rail, we are delivering Oxford Station Phase 2 works which will increase capacity through Oxford Station to accommodate additional services planned from 2024.

We are now recruiting for a Section Engineer to join our major projects team in Oxford to manage the technical compliance to design specification and meet the required quality, time, and safety standards of the project (section).

Key Responsibilities:

In this exciting Section Engineer role, you will manage the preparation of as-built drawings and manage systems to enable progress of work. You'll provide engineering support to make sure technical issues are resolved and will be responsible for setting out works. The Section Engineer will be responsible for managing the recording and testing of workmanship and materials. You'll regularly check the setting out points and ensure all setting out works are delivered to site with mandatory certification.

What do we need from you?

A proactive approach to work, with knowledge and experience of the main management systems (preferrable in a Network Rail setting or experience in a similar role). The ability to be positive and be able to work well in a team. The Section Engineer will need to have good organisational skills and have the ability to be a problem solver with good commercial and contractual awareness. Hold a valid UK driving license and you'll be qualified to degree standard or equivalent and must have firm people/project management.
