We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our Highways Major Projects team to work on our A43 project based in Brackley, Northamptonshire to manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification in order to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safely, on time and to the required quality and budget. Location: Brackley, Northampton

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: up to £42k

Responsibilities

As a Section Engineer, you'll support your manager and any staff under your control, maintain a good working relationship with the Client and other Stakeholders and manage and control your section of the work according to agreed programmes and budgets.

Your day to day will include:
  • provide proactive management and monitoring to the scheme on all matters pertaining to quality through the production and proper implementation of inspection and test plans.
  • hold a responsibility for the implementation and maintaining of safe systems of work in accordance with Kier Highways SHEA Policy and procedures, all legal requirements and best practice within Kier Highways major projects.
  • work to and understand the Client needs and expectations, the Project Strategy and the objectives of the scheme and promote continuous improvement in everything undertaken.
  • implementing and maintaining the Scheme Management Plan (SMP) to include the generation of records that show compliance with the SMP and other requirements and may include auditing and surveillance
  • ensure that adequate monitoring and supervision arrangements are maintained and clearly defined areas of responsibility for contractors are established and implemented
Who are we looking for?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if have:
  • experience in a similar in construction/highways
  • relevant construction related HNC / Degree
  • CSCS card
