We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working with Network Rail, we are delivering Oxford Station Phase 2 works which will increase capacity through Oxford Station to accommodate additional services planned from 2024.
We are now recruiting for a Section Engineer to join our Infrastructure team in Oxford to manage the technical compliance of the utility diversions, connections, disconnections and interfaces for the project to the design specification, in order to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting Section Engineer role, you will assist in the preparation of 'as-built' drawings and establish effective systems to record work completed and update the Project Quality Plan accordingly. The Section Engineer will provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered. You will be responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances, as well as the preparation of sketches, providing and maintaining setting out / dimensional control
What do we need from you?
We are looking for a Section Engineer with knowledge and experience of the main management systems and processes used within a similar major utility project. You will have strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude to work and a collaborative approach. The Section Engineer will be able to work as part of a team, as well as have commercial and contractual awareness. You will have the relevant qualifications (Management qualification / NVQ L3 / HNC / Degree) and experience in a similar role.
