Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting UK and international visitors every year. As well as attracting tourists all year round to the palace, park and gardens, Blenheim Palace also provides a venue for numerous special high profile events, including seasonal children's activities, sporting events and iconic fairs, concerts and festive markets.

You will be part of the team responsible for ensuring that we have a safe and secure environment for all our visitors, contractors and staff. We are looking for experienced security officers who can work as part of a team, delivering a first-class security service and ensuring that we are prepared for all emergencies.

Responsibilities:

  • CCTV system operations.
  • Following all the site security operational procedures.
  • Monitoring our security and safety systems (intrusion detection system, fire detection).
  • Ensuring any systems faults are reported immediately.
  • Maintaining all access control to the site.
  • Foot and vehicle patrols.
  • Manage key-holding during out of hours, ensuring all keys are signed out / in at all times.
  • Completing all operational documentation and incident reports.

We are looking for applicants who have some previous security experience for these roles. This may have been gained in the security industry, the police force or military service. Successful applicants must be able to work shifts, currently working a 5 on / 5 off - 12-hour shift pattern, permanent nights.

What you will also need:

  • A full clean driving licence.
  • High level of physical fitness as the role involves extensive patrols and you'll be working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • High level of personal and professional standards.
  • Impeccable interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Ideally living within appropriate commuting distance of the Palace.
  • A flexible approach, prepared to support team absence / holidays, potentially at short notice.
  • The nature of these roles requires all applicants to undergo successful vetting, including five-year employment referencing, DBS checks and credit checks.

Applicants will be part of a team and required to work on a rota of 5 on/5 off, 12-hour shift patterns (either 8pm - 8am or 6pm - 6am).
