We at Protocol are working with a specialist school on the island of Guernsey to recruit an SEN Science Teacher for at least the first term of the new academic year. This post will be reviewed on a term-by-term basis and for the right candidate this contract could span over the full Academic Year.

This is a specialist school Children and Young People that experience Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD). The school also takes responsibility to support all learners across the Bailiwick that have SEBD and as a staff team they are committed to offering any support they can to colleagues from all aspects of education in matters relating to SEBD.

We want to hear from experienced Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science Teacher who are not only specialists in their field academically but also highly experienced in the field of dealing with students with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.

Flights and accommodation are paid for for the duration of the contract.

Role responsibilities
Adhere to all school policies including Safeguarding, Prevent Strategy and Equality and Diversity
Delivery of Science courses at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Complete all planning and preparation for lessons
Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students, groups of students
Assigning work, correcting and marking work carried out
Adapt teaching strategies to cater for students individual learning needs
Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students
attend staff meetings as required
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress
The person & qualifications
Hold a strong SEBD/SEN teaching background
Hold a degree level qualification in Science
Be able to adapt teaching strategies to cater for individual student learning needs
Hold a teaching qualification
