Senior Architectural Technician Job in Guildford, Surrey

Our client is an architectural practice that now has a Senior Architectural Technician job available. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team in its new office in Guildford, focusing on residential development projects. Our client is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary architectural practice delivering a range of exciting projects, including large-scale residential developments. With significant recent growth including the opening of a new office, they are looking for an ambitious Senior Technician to join the Guildford team. The role is suited to a candidate with proven experience delivering working drawings for housing developers, housing associations (HAs), contractors, and SMEs.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Take a lead role in the running of projects

  • Projects would focus on residential developments on behalf of housing developers

  • Work on the production of technical drawing packages

  • Budget estimates. Specify materials and products, write work descriptions, and prepare preliminary documents

  • Design presentation materials like boards and layouts

  • Ensure compliance with building regulations, NHBC guidelines, and other relevant laws

  • Assess risks and create Health and Safety Plans according to regulations

  • Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with drawings and issue instructions as needed

  • Organize drawings properly and back up computer files monthly

  • Measure existing buildings on-site as required for projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 4 years in practice experience

  • Confident in the running of projects

  • Skilled in the use of Auto-CAD

  • Revit knowledge is advantageous

  • Current knowledge of UK regulations

  • Experience in UK based residential is essential

  • Developer led project experience is highly desirable.
