Job Description

As a Senior AU Accountant, you'll focus on client financials, tax returns, and management reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You'll play a key role in maintaining client relationships, providing support to management, and mentoring junior staff-all while making an impact on a global scale.

  • The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CA/CPA qualification (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years' accounting experience in an Australian Public Practice firm.
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end accounting functions such as compliance, reporting, BAS, and tax preparation.
  • Strong understanding of Australian taxation law, financial reporting standards, and client compliance management.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and MYOB.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with clients and teams.
  • Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain professional client relationships within a firm environment.
  • Proactive, independent, and collaborative team player who adapts well to evolving priorities.

  • Your Daily Tasks

  • Perform accounting work such as financials, tax returns, management reports, and ad hoc tax advice, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Prepare timely financial statements in accordance with schedules.
  • Allocate at least 90% of daily time to client work and achieve recovery rates of at least 80%.
  • Attend weekly work-in-progress meetings and update management on job status.
  • Communicate work status and issues with senior management promptly.
  • Provide support to senior management as required.
  • Stay updated with laws, regulations, and best practices in finance.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical principles and legal requirements.
  • Respond to client emails within one business day and provide completion timeframes.
  • Provide ad hoc support to clients as required.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, addressing questions in a timely manner.
  • Champion adherence to internal policies and procedures.
