Kier have been awarded a PCSA contract to develop the design for HMP Glasgow, which is a replacement for the existing adult male establishment at HMP Barlinnie. The project will deliver a new, modern prison that provides secure custody, safe and ordered prison regimes, high standards of decency and care, alongside opportunities for prisoners to develop in a way that helps them reintegrate on return to society on their release.?
The new prison is to accommodate spaces for 1,200 persons along with associated support facilities and regimes with an emphasis on rehabilitation through a focus on health and wellbeing. In developing the design we will explore options for delivering net zero carbon and embrace smart building technologies and automated processes to support the operation of the new facility.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will manage all aspects of design production, including the technical evaluation during tender phase and production / management of the design programme. You will assist with the production of Scope of Works and works packages, as well as taking ownership for the review of design documentation for contract compliance. As focal point of Kier to the client, you will be the point of contact for commercial, programme and design issues whilst supporting the project teams to deliver contracts within programme and commercial constraints
What do we need from you?
Previous experience on large scale projects, preferably £100m+. Experience managing a team within the Design function along with having a strong commercial acumen.
