Kier Places are recruiting for an experienced Design Manager to join our passionate Pre-Construction Capital Projects Team. With our diverse portfolio of projects, we are looking for an individual who has a passion for the project at hand, and securing work, whilst also being able to work within a good and healthy team environment. You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly in the occupied building arena, including residential, commercial, public sectors, ranging from fire safety improvements to large internal and external refurbishment projects and construction works, with values in the range of £1m - £7.5m.


Key Responsibilities

As a Design Manager your role will be key to planned and sustained business growth through the production of client focused bid proposals within our core markets across the UK.

This role will focus on leading and owning the Design management process and working collaboratively with our pre-construction and operational teams. As an integral member of our team, you'll coordinate and manage the production of high-quality design information from inception through to final submission, taking ownership of the process, design programme and documentation. You will need to ensure the management and production of all design information, whilst attending and hosting pre-tender and post tender design team meetings.


What do we need from you?

You will have the experience motivating and encouraging internal and external design teams, and will ensure drawings and designs are produced on time to a high quality, are easy to decipher, whilst overseeing the design process using technical expertise.

A thorough understanding of the RIBA Stages of Design will be essential, as will a proven experience of managing multi-disciplinary design teams.
