We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical design manager, with previous major MEP project experience (MEP value of £20m - £100m+) to be part of the team responsible for managing the electrical design on one of our key projects, Brighton hospital. Our design teams ensure technical excellence, assurance and performance across all projects and opportunities from pre-project, early engagement and work winning through to detailed delivery.

What experience do we look for?
- Electrical design experience with either an MEP consultancy or general contractor on major bids and projects such as fast track data centres; hospitals; prisons; science; stadia; high rise commercial & residential and infrastructure.
- Experience end to end in managing design - from concept to handover.
- First degree in Architectural or Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural). Other appropriate construction related qualification plus design related experience.
Role responsibilities
- Provide a focus for and lead the pre-construction phase briefing and design processes.
- Lead LOR's design management procedures, providing a functional link between the commercial and construction teams and the designers throughout the project life.
- Implement the processes that enable the design to be challenged and interrogated within a collaborative team framework.
- Implement agreed processes for the production, control and distribution of design information at different project stages.
- Ensure design information is thoroughly reviewed: for buildability, safety and maintainability, 'completeness & compliance' and technical suitability before use.
- Assist the Design Leader in promoting innovation in design management, methodology, processes and practices.
- Assist the Design Leader in promoting the application and adoption of the Company's vision and values in all design management activities.
