The Company:

Our client is one of Ireland's largest operators of district energy schemes and is a leader in the energy efficiency sector. Due to continued growth in their district energy and energy efficiency business, they are now seeking to recruit an additional resource who can lead our district heating business.

The Job:

The selected candidate will manage the district heating portfolio, conducting techno-economic assessments, composing operational reports and maintaining and developing client relationships. As part of this role, the candidate will assist in identifying and maintaining operational improvements and energy efficiency savings within those developments and assisting in the bid process of new schemes.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract and technical lead for the companies district energy business.
  • Key account management of large district energy contracts.
  • Manage operations of district energy schemes.
  • Work alongside the energy and / or operations team(s) to execute and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Conducting energy assessments for energy and carbon reduction projects and assist in post verification analysis.
  • Work alongside the SEAI in the application of energy grants.
  • Develop understanding of utility markets and procure utility (gas and electricity) for clients.
  • Manage the operations of district energy schemes.
  • Provide sound advice and guidance of a technical nature to clients in a simple and straightforward manner.
  • Provide technical support to team members in respect of operational issues with plant and equipment.
  • Supervision and management of third party sub-contractors on client sites.
  • Liaise with Operations Manager to assist with the delivery of planned preventative maintenance on client sites within budget and schedule.
  • Dealing with clients and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Keeping abreast of developments and opportunities in existing and new technologies.
  • Develop project scope including payback analysis for technical upgrade / retrofits, or new installations as appropriate.
  • Assist in the development of new business and tendering of same.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree Level 8 in Mechanical, Energy Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and work effectively to deadlines.
  • Task focused with proactive and positive approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in client organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an integral part of a team, as well as individually.
  • 2+ years' experience with account / client relationship management.
  • 4+ years' experience in energy reduction projects.
  • Experience in design and / or management of district heating system is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of CHP, large heating plant and hydronics.
  • Familiarity with building management systems and communication technologies is an advantage.
