I am recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer for a main contractor for a station upgrade in the West Midland's. The project is rail based and therefore experience of working in this industry is required. Experience in build would also be beneficial to any application.

The correct applicant should have the following knowledge;

  • Competent at setting out and willing to develop others in setting out skills
  • Understands and interpret contract documents (drawings, bending schedules, specifications, moss/setting out information strings)
  • Can communicate information to site teams/labour to ensure works are constructed within required tolerances
  • Can produce short term programmes for a section of the works
  • Is capable of supervising a team of engineers

The opportunity will include;

  • Producing comprehensive method statements for all operations carried out by sub contractors
  • Will take individual responsibility for implementing the QA plan within a particular section
  • Will have demonstrated the distinction "commercial awareness" for the full range of activities for which he/she is responsible
  • Will understand the principle of cost management for labour, plant, materials and sub contractors
  • Will have a key role in assisting the QS to maximise value
  • Will take a proactive role for Company standards for safety

You will also enjoy the support of CarmichaelUK who can help with CSCS, PTS and Lucas tests and also provide our temporary workers with a weekly payroll.
