Kier Professional Services is looking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join the Civil & Structural team in Liverpool.

Kier Professional Services (KPS) are an exclusive in-house resource, providing readily available expert advice to support understanding and resolution of technical project issues in temporary and permanent works. KPS are able to quickly mobilise resources to support project delivery and consistently deliver a dependable design service for buildability and safety.

Your responsibilities:

  • Permanent Works design for buildings, highways, housing and infrastructure, as part of an integrated design and construct offering
  • Tender and bid winning support including outline design schemes, feasibility studies, production and evaluation of concepts
  • Resolution of technical project, construction and design issues, incidents, defects and failures; incident investigation, examining causes of failure, rectification analysis, review, advice and redesign
  • Identification of technical risks and solutions to facilitate scoping, pricing, designing and construction
  • Site visits, surveys and inspections, reporting and advising on SHE issues
  • Develop and review engineering methods and software, including design or assessment spreadsheets and/or calculation templates



What are we looking for?:

  • Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE, IStructE) or able to demonstrate the required capability to attain such a qualification retrospectively
  • Five years relevant postgraduate experience
  • Full driving licence
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Flexible approach to work activities
