Senior Engineer - Civil - Permanent

About the project:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the East West Rail Project Phase 2 Programme, an alliance of three exceptional companies and Network Rail as the client. East West Rail Phase 2 is a £1.2 billion programme providing a strategic route linking key cities Oxford, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Bedford.

Can you work to ensure that all site operations are controlled by safe systems of work defined within internally and externally approved method statements, risk assessments, task sheets and procedures?

Scope of work: Enabling works, Stations, Bridges, Structures, Subway, Roads, Utilises and Crossings.

Additional activities include:

  • Engineering Methods - Most appropriate engineering methods.
  • Quality - Compliance and quality procedures including ITP implementation.
  • Permanent woks and materials / plant - Know and understand engineering standards and guidance.
  • Construction methods, practice and innovation - Knowledge of different methods, measurements and calculations.
  • Temporary Works - Understand temporary works requirements and supervise or coordinate where necessary.
  • Design process - Working with Design teams to communicate to teams
  • Information and change control - Set up mechanisms for change control
  • Manage project delivery - Development of plans, logistics, QA management and monitor performance.
  • HSE - Work with the teams and H&S professionals to ensure safe working practices.
  • Responsible for a team of engineers

Knowledge and experience can include:

  • Civils for Rail / Highway related engineering works
  • Excavation Knowledge such as - cut/fill, import/export, testing, monitoring, ground stabilisation, slope stability & temporary works
  • Geotechnical knowledge - material identification, sampling & testing
  • Preconstruction knowledge
  • An interest in Digital Engineer (BIM)
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Large diameter drainage and utilities
