Senior Environmental Advisor Location: East West Rail Are you passionate about Environmental Strategies that are top agenda for a 3 way alliance rail project? A Senior Environmental Advisor opportunity has risen in the team working on largest infrastructure projects in the Milton Keynes area. The role will see you work closely with our joint venture delivery partner Volker Rail. This position is to support the buildings Environmental Sustainability Leader to implement strategies, drive innovation and provide environmental assurance across multiple projects in the south of the UK. You will provide environmental support to projects and the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) function by assuring compliance with LOR Environmental Management System and providing advice on environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion the implementation of the business environmental sustainability strategy and support project teams with development of their project commitments
  • Support the delivery teams and especially Environmental Coordinator to implement their Environmental and Energy Management Plans
  • Provide support to the project Environmental Coordinator in the delivery of the key sustainability objectives with regards to environmental plans
  • Support in the provision of environmental engineering solutions so that the latest developments and innovations in permanent and temporary works are considered during construction
  • Provide technical advice and direct help to the project, clients and contractors to assist with the resolution of any significant environmental challenges
  • Ensure the project complies with environmental legislation and minimise risks of potential breaches leading to prosecution
  • Encourage project delivery teams to pursue innovation and implement best practise and to keep environmental issues on their agendas
  • Promote the reduction of energy use and carbon emissions

Your Experience

  • Understands stakeholder and project requirements and supports the team to develop and apply action plans from pre-construction to completion
  • Provides coaching and training on environmental processes and tools
  • Ensures compliance with the Environmental Management System (EMS)
  • Supports junior members of the environmental team
  • Has experience of building stakeholder relationships within own work area BREEAM, CEEQUAL, LEED or WELL support and delivery

Qualifications

  • Membership of IEMA, IES or IEEM
  • CEEQUAL or BREEAM qualification
