Senior Environmental Advisor

Location: Within 1 hour's commute of Guildford or Reading.

Kier Construction is looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Advisor to promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement. To promote the application and implementation of the alliance Management Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote continuous improvement of environmental/sustainability performance for the alliance and influencing and utilising JVs
  • Be familiar with and promote current environmental legislation including best practices
  • Participate in the development, regular review and update of the Environmental Management System.
  • Develop, Monitor and report the implementation and application of the EMS environmental advisors.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to all alliance personnel to enable them to manage their environmental and sustainability responsibilities.
  • Supervise and mentor the development of Environmental Advisors, where applicable.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of suitable environmental and sustainability training for staff.
  • Represent and promote the SHEQ (Environmental) Department in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums.
  • Raise environment/sustainability awareness and community relations awareness (where appointed).
  • Support external liaison (reality checks, audits, clients).
  • Develop and promote the alliance environmental standards
  • Input to schemes where significant environmental challenges and controls are required during design and/or construction.
Keys Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree level in appropriate Environmental discipline
  • experience of the Construction industry preferred
  • Full driving licence
  • Moderate IT skills
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Experience within the environmental field, specialising in construction
