THE ROLE
I am seeking a SENIOR GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER to join a firm of consulting engineers in their Redhill, Surrey.
You will assist the Associate with the project management, design, evaluation of geotechnical engineering solutions for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slopes, earthworks, ground remediation / treatment of sites, in a range of ground conditions, in accordance with current UK Codes of Practice.
You should be able to assist the Associate to develop client relationships, prepare fee bids, deal with all relevant documentation, coodinate and project manage as required etc.

THE CANDIDATE
You will need to have a Degree in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering / Engineering Geology / Geology.
Ideally you may also have an MEng or MSc in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering.
You should be from almost chartered level upwards with ICE or Geological Society or similar and have five years or more relevant experience gained with another firm of consulting engineers.
You will need to have some experience of British ground investigation, evaluation, design and construction methods and guidance e.g. Eurocode 7 and supporting documents, British standards, CIRIA, relevant ICE UK Specifications, Building Regulations, NHBC, Coal Authority, Environment Agency.
You will need experience of site visits, surveys and inspections and the preparation of reports.
You should have current knowledge of the CDM Regulations.
You will assist the Associate in managing other less experienced engineers.
You must have experience of geotechnical engineering deliverables in accordance with the latest RIBA Plan of Work and experience of the same for Highways and Railways projects.
A full UK driving licence is required.
