We are recruiting for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take a key role in our busy geotechnical team in Manchester within Kier Design and Technology Services.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will carry out geotechnical design and reporting associated with new highways and maintenance of existing road assets. This will have a focus on earthworks, retaining structures and bridge foundations and include the production of drawings and specifications, and ground investigation design and supervision. You will be in a team that shares knowledge and experience with all levels working together to deliver schemes. The role will include the management and development of junior colleagues within the geotechnical team as well as liaising with project managers and client's geotechnical advisors.
What do we need from you?
- Experience of geotechnical design for UK highways.
- Minimum of BEng Civil Engineering or BSc Geology / Earth Science and desirably an MEng / MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or related subjects and be at or close to achieving professional chartership status.
- Notable expertise and experience at a range of geotechnical foundation and earthworks design in accordance with National and European design standards.
- Clear capability with using a range of geotechnical software for design and analyses and experience of AutoCAD and / or HoleBase (or other geotechnical databases).
