We're looking for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Highways team based in Cambridge to design and maintain geotechnical assets on the road network. The role involves extensive fieldwork, so you will need to be able to work outdoors for extended periods. Location: Waterbeach Cambridge - remote working available, with travel to the office

Contract: Permanent - flexible and part-time hours available if desired, just let us know

Salary: up to £48k FTE

Responsibilities

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be working within the Highways team. You will be working directly with clients and project managers to develop scheme briefs and budgets. You will also be supporting the client's geotechnical advisors and lead the inspection of the earthworks asset.

Your day to day will include:
  • Take a leading role in producing geotechnical designs, reports and documentation in accordance with the scheme brief and in line with the time and budgetary allocations
  • Assist in the overall delivery of the workload of the Geotechnical team within the Design Services office including feasibility reports, designs specifications and reviews of third-party designers
  • Aid the development of junior colleagues within the geotechnical team
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Geotechnical Engineer is great for you if:
  • Minimum of BEng Civil Engineering or BSc Geology / Earth Science or related subjects
  • AutoCAD and / or HoleBase (or other geotechnical databases)
  • Full driving licence
