We're looking for a Senior GIS Technician to join our Highways team based in Birmingham. Location: Birmingham, where you will be based out of our office with travel to other offices and sites

Contract: Full time, Permanent?

Salary: £25k-£35k FTE + 26 days holiday plus bank holidays + Pension + Benefits

Responsibilities

As a Senior GIS Technician, you'll be working within the Highways team to constantly innovate and structure a forward program for the future, utilising all cutting-edge hardware and software to ensure Kier maintains its place at the forefront of the industry. You will plan and adjust team workload to ensure project timescales and accuracy levels are met.

Your day to day will include:

  • Helping in the GIS and data management and offer back-office support functions as required
    Supporting in the advancement of GIS and supported solutions to the wider kier business
  • Capturing location assets using various technologies and GPS tools and provide a dedicated GIS resource to a nominated area of the business
  • Understanding and providing management of GIS and mobile applications
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior GIS Technician is great for you if:

  • You understand ESRI GIS products including Desktop, Server and Mobile and hold a high level of IT competency including Microsoft Office packages and script/conduct basic programming
  • Highly numerate and able to analyse data and statistics and be able to programme and manage a project team
  • Can demonstrate the ability to deliver GIS solutions and proactively solve problems
