We're looking for a Senior Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Technician to join our Highways Applied Digital Services team based in Birmingham to undertake project work on HS2 as directed by the GIS Technical Manager, provide professional support and solution development services to the Kier HS2 team and assist with the management of Kier's HS2 GIS deliverables. Responsibilities

As a Senior GIS Technician, you'll liaise with the Kier HS2 team, including regular travel to the Stafford office and act as a contact point for client enquiries

Your day to day will include:
  • Forward planning of the team's workload to ensure project requirements are met within set timeframes and at a high accuracy.
  • Have a firm understanding of technical guidance relating to HS2 GIS deliverables.
  • Provided a dedicated GIS resource for the Kier HS2 team
  • Understanding/Management of GIS and Mobile applications
  • Attend regular client meetings
  • Assist in the advancement of GIS and supported solutions to the wider Kier business
Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior GIS Technician is great for you if have:
  • Experience using AutoCAD and / or ESRI ArcGIS
  • High level of IT competency, experience with all Microsoft Office packages
  • Able to facilitate and oversee data automation and data analytics
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to deliver GIS solutions and proactively solve problems
