A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Structures Engineer to join our Kier Highways Team based in Basingstoke. Reporting to the Principal Highway Structures Engineer, the main purpose of this role is to support the Structures Assessment Team by leading assessment/design and/or checks as well as to demonstrate project management, safety and technical accountability in all activities relating to the inspection, study, design, maintenance, and construction of highway structurers on the trunk road & LA network as delegated on a project basis.
What do we need from you to be successful in this role?
- Degree/HNC & Preferably Chartered or Incorporated Civil/Structural Engineer
- Proven project management of highway structures projects or tasks up to £2M and delivery to programme and budget in a safe environment
- Proven analytical design and assessment experience of complex structures.
- Extensive post graduate experience in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Good working knowledge of H&S procedures in the both the inspection of Highway Structures and the CDM Regulations Developing, mentoring and supervision of Highway Structures staff
- Design, assessment, bridge maintenance and/or contract document preparation to Highways England procedures.
- Ability to work with or advise key clients on technical issues in the highway structures sector at a senior level.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills commensurate with key client expectations.
