Senior Interior Designer Job in New York City

Senior Interior Designer required to join our client, a leading architectural and interior design firm, working from their head office in New York City, close to Madison Square Park. The role will see you join one of interior design's top 100 firms, working across all stages of design. You'll be the main link between clients and your project teams, assisting with work from concept to completion.

Established over 60 years ago, this practice has links across the US and covers all aspects of architectural planning, interior design, and brand development for commercial projects of all sizes. You will be joining a vibrant and highly enthusiastic team with a strong work ethic to deliver some of the best projects across the workplace and commercial sectors.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of conceptual designs, including mood boards, look and feel of projects, spatial design, and test fits
  • Guide and mentor junior members to deliver renderings and design packages
  • FF&E selection, specification, and budget management
  • Site visits and manage installations
  • Lead and manage teams of intermediate and junior designers on a project-by-project basis
  • Review technical drawings and create millwork detailing and specifications
  • Attend client meetings and manage expectations
  • Liaise with and coordinate consultants and vendors.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified, or higher, in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or similar
  • 10+ years within corporate interior design
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), and MS Office
  • Experience creating and understanding project documentation
  • FF&E experience
  • Knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements.
