An exciting opportunity to join our Land Department and be an integral part of our South Yorkshire region. We are looking for a Senior Land Manager to join the team and work under our Head of Land based in Sheffield. You will currently be working as a Senior Land Manager or a Land Manager with experience of working within the house building industry securing sites for residential development.

Main Responsibilities

As Senior Land Manager you will be responsible for the acquisition of land and the securing of new sites for development that will meet or exceed Gleeson Homes regional forecast performance. You will see acquisitions through the legal process and collaborate on obtaining satisfactory planning approvals on acquired sites.

  • Identify potential residential land opportunities throughout South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw.
  • Provide to the executive board detailed land bids that demonstrate the company's requirements.
  • Agree HOTs and purchase land to ensure continuity of land supply to meet future forecasts.
  • Demonstrate that site acquisition terms concur with agreed and authorised land bids.
  • Take ownership of legal agreements, Liaise with legal representatives and advise on the legal status of developments.
  • Work closely with and brief design teams, external consultants, and internal departments to ensure the successful delivery of planning on sites
  • Draw to the attention of the Group Land Director any issues which may affect existing or future obligations.

Attend seminars, conferences and events to stay fully informed of the current and key issues affecting land acquisitions and its principles.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience as a Land Manager or Senior Land Manager
  • Up to date knowledge of land acquisition legislation
  • Commercially astute
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Team player
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Office)
  • Although not essential it would be advantageous to have knowledge of land buying in the South Yorkshire region.
