Mechanical engineers from a Building Services background will enjoy working for a Global Leader in the design of market leading data centre facilities in the UK and Europe. As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer , lead projects specifically within their Co-Location team, taking on a key role offering an opportunity to progress and mentor younger engineers, partake in a client facing role with a clear progression route to Principal level for the right candidate.

This rapidly growing organization is now dominating the Data Centre design market. With growth expectations around 20-30% annually and a diverse project portfolio both geographically and technically, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to become an industry recognised specialist in this buoyant market.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for running of medium size projects

Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services

Designs and specifies mechanical building systems, equipment, facilities, components and products

Develops Mechanical engineering concepts and solutions

Reports and reviews on Mechanical engineering options and makes final proposal

Attend project design team meetings (perhaps overseas visits required) and co-ordinate with Architects, project managers,

Role Requirements

Chartered Engineer or working towards, educated to degree level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent and hold membership of relevant institutions.

Experience of data centre or other mission critical projects

Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation

Currently working in either consultancy or mission critical systems and is prepared to work 'hands on'.
