Senior Mechanical Engineer - London (Data Centres)
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a growing team within a leading international engineering and design consultancy, with a strong focus on high-performance building services across mission-critical projects.
Location: London
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 + package (depending on experience)
The Role:
You'll play a key part in delivering innovative mechanical design solutions on technically complex projects, particularly in the data centre and critical infrastructure sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career within a team that values high standards, creative engineering, and collaboration across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and coordination of medium to large-scale projects from concept through to construction.
- Develop detailed engineering solutions for HVAC and other mechanical building services systems, ensuring they meet performance, sustainability, and compliance targets.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Carry out technical assessments, calculations, and analysis to support robust design development.
- Support and mentor junior team members, reviewing work and providing technical guidance.
- Ensure designs adhere to UK regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Prepare specifications and reports using tools such as Word, Excel, and specialist engineering software.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- Previous professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer working on data centres, industrial or similar projects.
- Familiar with UK building regulations and Standards.
- Ability to lead packages of work independently while coordinating effectively within a wider team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in design tools and software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation tools.
