Responsibilities
As Senior Parking & Traffic Regulation Order Officer you'll be working within the Asset & Professional Services team, supporting them in ensuring delivery of all traffic regulation orders and parking improvement schemes within Northamptonshire.
Your day to day will include:
- Drafting and processing traffic regulation orders and related statutory notices under the various sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and other relevant legislation
- Investigating appropriate parking control improvements, including public consultations and the progression and implementation of schemes where appropriate, in accordance with the annual review programme.
- Ensuring that traffic management, parking schemes and supporting traffic regulation orders are progressed legally and on time.
- Advising planning officers with regards to the provision of parking restrictions in relation to new development
- Liaising and working with the Traffic Manager and other external bodies for the delivery of their service on behalf of the local authority, including the updating of the Council's ParkMap TRO management system
This role of Senior Parking & Traffic Regulation Order Officer is great for you if you can:
- Demonstrate experience in the development and implementation of traffic engineering and parking schemes including the application of highway standards and procedures
- Show involvement in drafting permanent and temporary traffic regulation orders for changes to parking restrictions along with orders for moving traffic restrictions
