We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Strategic Projects team based in Glasgow. Within this role, you can enjoy exposure to delivering net zero carbon and embrace smart building technologies, progression opportunities, support in obtaining further qualifications and even more.

Location: HMP Glasgow, Scotland

Contract: Full time, permanent (Monday to Friday) - able to consider part time working

Kier have been awarded a PCSA contract to develop the design for HMP Glasgow, which is a replacement for the existing adult male establishment at HMP Barlinnie. The project will deliver a new, modern prison that provides secure custody, safe and ordered prison regimes, high standards of decency and care, alongside opportunities for prisoners to develop in a way that helps them reintegrate on return to society on their release.?

The new prison is to accommodate spaces for 1,200 persons along with associated support facilities and regimes with an emphasis on rehabilitation through a focus on health and wellbeing. In developing the design we will explore options for delivering net zero carbon and embrace smart building technologies and automated processes to support the operation of the new facility.


Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working with the project teams to assist them in developing realistic target construction programmes, still fully integrated, and retaining an overall monitoring capacity for our larger & more complex projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • All aspects of planning, phasing, programming and sequencing for our tendering activity, including the coordination of design, commercial and production activities into one truly Integrated Programm

  • Supporting and mentoring of our project leads to ensure they have the technical software skills to produce their own regularly look ahead programmes, individual trade package programmes, as well as being able to update progress and undertake regular progress monitoring drop lines.

  • Developing ideas to drive improvement and consistency in the timely delivery of our preconstruction preferred bids and our live projects.? This being achieved within a working group of fellow senior managers within the business.


Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

  • You hold the relevant qualifications

  • You have a solid history of working on build tenders and projects with a main contractor

  • You are an experienced operator of Primavera P6 and Microsoft project software
