Are you a seasoned geo-environmental professional with a strong background in contaminated land, hydrogeology, or brownfield development? A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior or Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant to join a leading environmental consultancy at the forefront of geoscience services across Ireland and the UK.
Based in either Dublin or Cork, this hybrid role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, including large-scale brownfield developments, landfill assessments, renewable energy schemes, and complex hydrogeology investigations.
The Role:
You'll join an established, multidisciplinary team delivering technical excellence across contaminated land and hydrogeological projects. From planning and executing complex site investigations to leading risk assessments and developing remediation strategies, your expertise will shape outcomes on impactful projects across sectors such as infrastructure, property, energy, and construction.
As a Senior or Principal Consultant, you'll take a leading role in project delivery, client liaison, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development initiatives. You'll be given the autonomy to manage projects end-to-end while being supported by an experienced leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage geo-environmental and hydrogeological site investigations and monitoring programmes.
- Deliver robust technical reports, including Preliminary Risk Assessments (PRA), Generic and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments (GQRA/DQRA).
- Lead project teams, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery to high standards.
- Mentor junior colleagues and support their technical development.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, providing expert advice and maintaining strong relationships.
- Support the preparation of tenders and technical proposals.
About You:
- Degree qualified in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related discipline (MSc desirable).
- 4+ years (Senior) or 8+ years (Principal) experience in contaminated land and/or hydrogeology.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership.
- Proven experience managing geo-environmental or hydrogeological projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, field investigation techniques, and laboratory data interpretation.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- A collaborative, proactive approach with a client-focused mindset.
