Job Description

As a Senior Product Development Engineer, you will take ownership of end-to-end product lifecycle activities for globally distributed medical and wellness products. This includes design and change control, technical documentation, regulatory compliance, and close collaboration with external contract manufacturers.

You will act as a key technical partner to internal stakeholders and global suppliers, ensuring product continuity, compliance, and performance while supporting new product introductions, cost initiatives, and continuous improvement.

  • The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related Science discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Development, Product Engineering, or NPI, ideally within medical devices or other regulated manufacturing industries
  • Proven experience in engineering change management, design control, and technical documentation
  • Hands-on exposure to FDA and/or EUDAMED-regulated products
  • Solid understanding of product lifecycle management and external/contract manufacturing
  • Strong background in technical drawing interpretation, specification development, and change control
  • 3+ years of project management experience, coordinating cross-functional and external teams
  • Working knowledge of GS1 / UDI / GUDID / barcode standards
  • Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics and/or NetSuite preferred)
  • Strong communication skills for both internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Your Daily Tasks

  • Lead global external manufacturing initiatives, including supplier engagement, change control, product continuity, and cost-saving programs
  • Own design change processes, technical files, specifications, and documentation for externally manufactured products
  • Coordinate and execute new product introductions (NPI) with contract manufacturers, aligning planning, demand, and system parameters
  • Review product designs for compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal standards
  • Manage and coordinate testing activities (DFMEA, ISO testing, environmental and conditional testing)
  • Resolve product supply and quality issues efficiently to maintain continuity
  • Develop and improve internal and external manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Support UDI and GTIN allocation, labeling, and regulatory marking requirements
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Sourcing teams on inventory strategy, MOQ vs EOQ, and transition planning
  • Track and support on-time delivery metrics, minimizing supply disruptions and transition delays
  • Represent the technical perspective in cross-functional business meetings and project prioritization
  • Prepare technical, financial, and operational analyses (ROI, break-even, inventory transition costs)
  • Cross-train with Packaging Engineering to support labeling, instructions, and packaging development
  • Executes on Strategic Direction
