We are currently seeking an experienced Senior or Project Engineer with specialist expertise in structural steel to join our delivery team on a construction project in West London. You'll play a key role in managing the technical and delivery aspects of steel packages - from early-stage coordination through to fabrication, erection, and project close-out. The ideal individual will have a degree in civil/structural engineering with the ability to show previous experience gained in a similar role working on steel packages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and delivery of structural steelworks on complex construction and infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with design consultants, steel fabricators, and site teams to ensure design intent and buildability
- Review and manage technical drawings, fabrication details, and connection designs
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK standards and specifications (e.g. Eurocodes, BS EN 1090)
- Oversee quality assurance, inspection, and testing procedures for steel elements
- Provide engineering support and problem-solving throughout the construction phase
- Collaborate with commercial, planning, and site teams to drive programme and cost performance
- Engage with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and local authorities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the UK construction or infrastructure sector
- Proven track record in the delivery of structural steel packages
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and steel fabrication standards
- Experience in sectors such as rail, highways, commercial or industrial infrastructure is desirable
- Effective communicator with excellent coordination and leadership skills
- Chartered or working towards chartership with ICE or IStructE is preferred
