The opportunity:

We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the highly successful Kier Construction Western & Wales team based in Cardiff. We've got a strong, secured order book for the coming years and require someone to oversee the running of multiple projects for our team, with a value of circa £5M to £50M per project. With the experience and seniority to lead, you will report into the Operations Director with people management and reporting responsibility for your division. Projects coming up include leisure, education, student accommodation, high rise residential, healthcare, commercial, retail and public sector work.

Ideally you'll have experience of large/complex schools and healthcare projects, and have completed circa £50M projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and implementation of designated projects
  • Establish a project plan from inception to completion taking into account all relevant statutory and client requirements, establish targets with respect to project delivery; monitor and report on progress against these targets.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects including management and delivery of project milestones
  • Effectively manage and maintain appropriate budget costa achieving targets
  • Manage the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money
  • Carry out contract administration including financial management, liaising with external consultants where employed
Individual:
  • Experience of completing £50M+ projects and leading large teams within the main contracting sector
  • Full understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation
  • Knowledge and experience of partnering and target cost framework contracts
  • Member of a recognised professional body or qualifications e.g. MCIOB, RICS
