Location: Agile working with the requirement to visit the Basingstoke office a few times a week, and visiting projects when operational across the M4 corridor

Kier Places are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our passionate Capital Projects Team. The Capital Projects Team have a pipeline of opportunities to deliver cladding replacement projects to residential buildings across the M4 corridor. You will be working on a portfolio of projects predominantly involving the recladding of high-rise buildings, with typical project values between £2M and £9M, and of a construction nature. You will be joining a team specialising in this workstream which has huge long-term growth opportunity, in which successful applicants will have a huge opportunity to grow and develop as this new workstream evolves.

Key Responsibilities

As our Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be part of a small team dedicated to the pre-construction and delivery process of either two stage or single stage opportunities. You will be expected to commercially manage all aspects of these opportunities / projects and your key responsibilities will be to manage the client account, effectively manage costs, drive profitability and manage risk.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the appointment and management of subcontractors for successful delivery of cost, quality and duration, have accountability for pricing of additional works, resolve any contractual issues from our client and supply chain; and take ownership of Value Cost Reconciliation, forecasts, financial reports and contract reviews, to produce the required Commercial Plans in line with our Business Plan.

What do we need from you as the Senior Quantity Surveyor?

The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be a commercially focused, self-motivated individual who can manage, lead and execute our vision. Collaborative working with all external and internal stakeholders will be crucial, and experience of building effective working relationships with Senior Management and Directors, and experience of delivering projects under JCT and NEC Forms of Contract will be essential.

Whilst expertise in cladding and envelope construction is not essential, successful applicants will need to demonstrate a sound general construction knowledge.
