Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in Northampton
Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in Northampton for a reputable, growing regional housebuilder, covering sites across Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire for their South Midlands region. The role offers a salary of up to £70k + £6k Car Allowance + 10% Bonus + Remote Working.
They are made up of two offices in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and with circa 150 staff, they have a solid reputation in housebuilding, headed up by the founder of a Top 10 housebuilder. The South Midlands region currently deliver around 250 units per year and aim to deliver 500-600 units per year in the next five years. The role will involve managing 2-3 sites at varying stages and phases, from anything between 80 and 500 units per site, from budget to final accounts. To be considered you must come from a housebuilder or residential main contractor background.
Role & Responsibilities
- Production of accurate cost plans / budgets
- Production of quarterly valuations to monitor and control site expenditure and ensure budgets are not exceeded
- Weekly site visits to control and facilitate labour only subcontractor payments
- Preparing tenders, negotiating prices with subcontractors and raising of orders to facilitate site build requirements
- Variations
- Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors
- Payment of sub-contractors
- Management and mentoring of junior members of staff
- Production of various reports
Required Skills & Experience
- Must have experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level for a housebuilder or residential main contractor
- Experienced from budget to final accounts
- COINS experience would be advantageous but not essential
- Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- Experienced in mentoring / managing junior team members
- UK Driving Licence
