The Opportunity:
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team on our project in Wimbledon, London.
What will the role look like?
To assist in the management/administration of commercial matters on the Wimbledon Asset Replacement, covering:
- Contract Administration
- Risk Management
- Cost Management and Control, forecasting including Earned Value
- Change Management
- Dispute Resolution
- Development of Cost base data
- Administration and Management of Subcontract accounts
- Liaison with Group including finance, legal, insurance, treasury, tax, purchase ledger, contract services and procurement
- Commercial reporting
Report to the Project Leader / Commercial Lead on day to day commercial activities & tasks including areas of potential concern.
Ensure compliance with corporate and client governance.
Work with the procurement department on:
- Preparing and negotiating subcontract agreements
- Commercial terms and conditions for purchase orders
- Scheduling procurement requirements
What skills & experience are we looking for?
- HSE and Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability: Demonstrates commitment to promote a culture and set of behaviours on the project that supports LOR's HSE Group vision and aspirations.
- Quality Assurance (Self Assurance): Creates and sets the quality (self assurance) culture on the project Supports buildability reviews (civil, mechanical and electrical)
- Commercial and business acumen: Has experience of a variety of commercial mechanisms and procurement routes, understanding the implications and drivers to enable economic success for Laing O'Rourke. Is comfortable managing the allocated elements of each allocated subcontract package, including forecasting.
- Client and Stakeholder Management: Recognised for their ability to understand the clients business objectives and work with the sponsor and stakeholders to maximise value in the proposed solution. Proactively reaches out to understand the client context, needs and requirements; is aware of the current market and competition and uses this to shape the delivery of outcomes.
- People Management: Provides coaching and development input on commercial matters to the wider project team.
- Growth: Able to develop relationships that provide opportunities for LOR.
