Our Thames Gateway Division located in Dartford is looking to recruit a Group Senior Quantity Surveyor (Building Safety) to join the Group Building Safety Team. The Role This role of Group Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the costs relating to fire projects. The Group Senior Quantity Surveyor reports to the Group Commercial Director. Principle accountabilities of the Group Senior Quantity Surveyor role include: Preparation of initial fire project cost estimates and budgets, working alongside external consultants and Divisional commercial teams. Work closely with Divisional commercial and financial teams to ensure that projects are administered in accordance with Group procedures. Review monthly valuations from Divisions including the investigation of significant cost movements. Close liaison with Divisional commercial teams and legal representatives to ensure claim recoveries from third parties and pursued and secured in a timely manner. Provide reports and briefs to Project Management team on a monthly basis. Help develop and communicate these procedures and where necessary provide training to Divisional teams. Audit Divisional compliance with Group policy and procedures. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience Extensive relevant experience with either a housebuilder, contractor, or consultancy. Experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or other relevant role. Experience of visiting construction sites and carrying out reviews of work in progress and measuring / valuing any additional works. Knowledge of the technical aspects of housebuilding processes would be useful but not mandatory. Experience of working with COINS desirable. Qualifications and Training Relevant degree in commercial / surveying discipline or HND / HNC desirable. Skills and Aptitude Strong communication and listening skills. Good networking and negotiation skills and able to influence stakeholders to comply with Group policy. Ability to work on own as well as part of a team Excellent attention to detail and demonstrates ability to meet deadlines IT literate and the ability to adapt to new systems Good administration skills Committed to diversity and inclusion The Role and Working Conditions Office based role with the willingness and ability to travel regularly nationally to Divisional offices (primarily in the London and South East of England), development sites and stakeholder meetings.
