Location: Nationwide, this is an agile role where you will be based out of our local Kier offices with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites

We are Kier, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure services, working on projects such as Local and Strategic Highways.
We are now recruiting for a Senior Lighting Design Engineer to join our Highways team in to provide support to clients and lead the development of road lighting design projects on time, within budget and to the agreed standards.
Key Responsibilities
As Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer, you will identify how information can be utilised to achieve specific project aims and how it will be applied throughout the engineering process. Work with the project teams and clients to ensure assigned problems or issues are defined well enough and that the requirement (brief) is fully understood. Identify and take account of relevant technical and engineering standards at all project stages. Resolve assigned problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives. Take responsibility for engineering and technical tasks, identifying where unfamiliar techniques and methodologies will be used to resolve issues. Understanding of engineering and technical disciplines health and safety, quality management and environmental management systems and project management techniques and practices, including contractual and commercial issues gained through experience. Good communication skills with fluent written and verbal English. Provide advice and guidance to junior engineers and other members of the project team on matters within own specialism.
What do we need from you?
- HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline
- IEng or EngTech (or working towards this status) through a relevant institution
- ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma. Specialist knowledge of the road lighting design discipline gained through advanced training or qualifications and experience
- Understanding of engineering and technical disciplines health and safety, quality management and environmental management systems and project management techniques and practices, including contractual and commercial issues gained through experience
- Technical team management
- Valid driving licence
