We're looking for a Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer to join our Highways team to provide support to clients and lead the development of road lighting design projects on time, within budget and to the agreed standards. You will need to understand engineering and technical disciplines health and safety, quality management and environmental management systems and project management techniques and practices, including contractual and commercial issues gained through experience. This is an agile role where you will be based out of our local Kier offices with home working available and some travel to other offices and sites. A valid driving licence is essential. Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Contract: Permanent, Fulltime

Salary: £37k - £48k

Responsibilities

As Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer, you will identify how information can be utilised to achieve specific project aims and how it will be applied throughout the engineering process.

Your day to day will include:
  • Work with the project teams and clients to ensure assigned problems or issues are defined well enough and that the requirement (brief) is fully understood
  • Identify and take account of relevant technical and engineering standards at all project stages
  • Resolve assigned problems or issues to support the delivery of projects or design objectives.

Who are we looking for?

This role of Senior Road Lighting Design Engineer is great for you if have:
  • HNC/HND or Degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline / IEng or EngTech (or working towards this status) through a relevant institution
  • ILP Exterior Lighting Diploma. Specialist knowledge of the road lighting design discipline gained through advanced training or qualifications and experience
  • Technical team management
