Location: Cornwall
Contract: Permanent, full time
Key Responsibilities
Initially, you will be aligned with a major build project in Cornwall. The Senior Site Engineer will manage the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project safely, on time and to the required quality, providing specific engineering expertise and advice to project delivery teams overseeing enabling works stage right through the delivery of the main construction works. Duties and responsibilities will include: Overseeing all engineering activities on site for Kier
· Supervising and coordinating with specialist subcontractors engineers on site
· Taking on the role of project temporary works coordinator
· Working with permanent civils and structures engineers and temporary works engineers
· Ensuring the proper designs, check and approvals are in place for all temporary works designs
· Carry out all necessary SHE inspections in line with Kier minimum safety standards and Kier's 5 SHE basics.
· Carry out site safety inductions when required.
· Compile quality records for the works using Kier's QMS and ensure they are up to date and correct.
· Ensure subcontractors have all necessary ITP in place and approved before commencing works on site.
· Ensure all engineering activities are successfully and safely delivered on time and on budget
· Ensure subcontractors engineers are carrying works to required standard, accuracy and level of coordination.
· Ensure there is an approved temporary works design in place for all temporary works onsite
· Ensure all temporary works designs are completed by a suitably qualified person
· Ensure that all onsite temporary works are installed by a qualified person and completed exactly to the approved detailed temporary works design.
· Ensure that all temporary works are checked / inspected at the specified intervals.
· Ensure permanent works engineers are producing information that contains the correct level of detail and coordination
What we need from you:
· Ability to competently operate setting out and levelling equipment (Total Stations and Digital Levels)
· Full understanding and use of DWG or Revit based software
· Experience with high value civil & structural work packages
· Be able to competently manage tasks with little supervision
· Familiar with interpretation of technical standards and site controls necessary to ensure compliance
· Be able to competently use all forms of total stations and setting out equipment
· Be able to be part of a large team and high contributor to the Project Delivery Success
· A full understanding and able to demonstrate the use of computer software packages including but not limited to AutoCAD , Microsoft Office , blue beam
