To ensure we meet our ambitions we are recruiting a Senior Social Value Advisor (Infrastructure). This role will be aligned to our Building Business Unit and will be responsible for developing and embedding our new 2030 Social Value Ambition.

The Senior Social Sustainability Advisor (Infrastructure) is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

  • To support the Social Value Leader, in the on-going development of the LOR Sustainability Strategy and Social Value Ambition
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders, using effective communications and build relationships with delivery partners, project teams and other functions
  • Responsible for work winning evidence across the Infrastructure Unit portfolio of projects including quotes, case studies and quantifiable data
  • Monitoring and evaluating all social value delivery across the Building Unit portfolio of projects ensuring we are meeting all our social value commitment both internal and external

The candidate will have:

  • Experience in developing and implementing social value strategies and initiatives in a construction setting
  • Understanding of local and national legislation relating to Social Value, such as Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, PPNs, city and regional plans
  • Good understanding of work winning procedures and how to develop a high-quality bid submission
  • Understanding of Social Value impact measurement tools in the UK and how they are aligned to Laing O'Rourke Social Value Ambition
  • Ability to lead a team of Social Value Advisor giving them the advice, guidance and support
