Building better structural solutions for a brighter future

Every working day, the Structural Engineers of Laing O'Rourke embrace the challenge to deliver projects with sophisticated simplicity.

The question is, could you?

  • Are you inspired by the idea of providing amazing structural solutions for the UK's most incredible projects?
  • Are you excited by the thought of joining a diverse team of structural engineers, enhancing your reputation working on bigger, better, multi-million-pound pound projects around the world, with a company that will support and accelerate your career?

If the answer is "Yes", come and work with us to build the next Olympic Park, eye-catching HS2 station, or nuclear power plant.

We are looking for bright & committed Senior Structural Engineers who will bring energy, new ideas & a fresh perspective to help us become the recognised leader and transform the construction and engineering industry.

This role sits at the 'sweet spot' between a design office and a construction site, where you will be required to innovate and solve complex technical challenges, whilst seeing first-hand your solutions feed into the manufacture and assembly of live projects.

Working as part of a close-knit team of structural engineers and as part of the wider precast technical solutions team you will provide;

  • Technical oversite to a wide range of standard and bespoke architectural and structural precast products for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
  • Providing engineering support during design, detailing, manufacture & onsite assembly

The primary technical capabilities we look for are:

  • BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Familiarity with temporary works and lifting precast units
  • Understanding of the role of temporary works
  • Experience with codes of practice for concrete and steelwork design (EN & BS codes)
  • Literacy in Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Ability to manage consultants, sub-consultants, suppliers, and sub-contractors

Don't match all the criteria? We are open and always happy to hear from people with transferable skill sets and a commitment to learning.
